forget cigarettes and alcohol, wellies and a nice kagoule are the true essentials for 6th June's visit to Heaton Park to see Oasis.
A weekend in Manchester always puts a smile on my face even though you know the second you start crossing the Peaks there'll be rain on the cards!
And rain there well and truly was so sat it out with afternoon tea in the Beetham Tower (cream scone anyone?) with fabulous views of Manchester and a slighlthy scary panel allowing you to see straight down to street level. A tentative welly was placed on of course and the panic was only mild!
The evening itself was a true chance to reminisce for this welly wearer with cocktails at Label (god I miss though girls nights out): a trip on the tram (my former morning commute); quick pop to the chip shop (Friday night post pub special) and to my lovely former local (Friendship Inn, Prestwich) for a pint of cider. Then off to Heaton Park for Kasabian and Oasis!
Kasabian, great set and then for the main event oasis themselves. Predictably the crowd got a tiny bit overexcited but a fantastic night with a great vibe.
Sadly a bit too much throwing of "substances", cold good "gotta be beer", warm and panic, some tosser chucked some wee - gross!!!!. Still didn't spoil a top night, finished with a spontaneous group sing at the Metro station of "Don't look Back in Anger" before boarding a slightly whiffy tram back to the City Centre.
Country girl misses the city vibe, but figures scruff would hit meltdown if she had to live in a city!!
